Chanel Experiments With Its Archive for FW22 Haute Couture Show

Chanel reimagines staples of its archive for its Fall/Winter 2022 Haute Couture collection, continuing its vision from its previous Spring/Summer 2022 capsule. The show opens with Pharrell Williams performing a drum solo, giving way to a black and white set filled with balloon-like fixtures for a sense of playfulness.

Designer Virginie Viard sent a melange of frothy gowns, classic tweed suits and pleated dresses down the runway, presenting the French luxury brand’s iconic silhouettes alongside reinvigorated garments. Referencing the last show’s love for horseback riding, Viard pairs chic cowboy boots with long skirts. Resort-ready wide-brimmed hats add a sincere touch of relaxed elegance to cropped joggers and classy t-strap pumps.

The FW22 collection is grounded in a color palette of black, silver, beige, khaki, alongside pops of bright green and pink. A pale rosy shade takes the form of a refreshed skirt suit, bearing an open knit fabric and pockets. Exciting silhouettes include voluminous sleeves on cropped tweed jackets, while a show-stopping moss green dress boasts a coquettish halter neckline, drop-waist and mermaid skirt for extra drama.
