Chance The Rapper and Kirsten Corley Bennett have announced their divorce. In a joint statement posted to their Instagram accounts on Wednesday (April 3), the Chicago emcee and women’s health advocate shared they have decided to part ways after being quietly separated for a while.

“After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways. We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together,” the post read.

The two also assured they will continue to co-parent their two daughters, Kensli, 7, and Marli, 4. “God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together. We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition,” they concluded. “Thank you, Chance & Kirsten.”

Kirsten and Chance got married in 2019 after dating for several years. According to People, they were together “before the fame,” as they met at their moms’ Christmas party when they were just 9 years old.

“My mom worked at a real estate agency with her mom,” the Acid Rap creator recalled. “Her daughters love to dance so they did a choreographed dance at this real estate party that I was at when I was 9. I saw her dancing and I was like, ‘Let’s get married!’”

On top of being a mother, Corely is the founder and CEO of World of BOBY, a children’s apparel line she launched in July 2021. She also modeled for several brands from 2014 to 2016, according to Fashion Public Magazine, including Alexander Wang, Shelby Steiner, and Vogue.
