Champions League roundup: Juventus, Man City, PSG all victorious (video)
The third matchday of the Champions League group stage didn’t offer much in the way of enticing fixtures, and the giants of the game showed why.
Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Atletico Madrid were all winners by a combined score of 8-0. Only one more goal between them than Bayern Munich by itself, but still.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Juventus make easy work of Bayer
The Italian giants didn’t yield a shot on goal and beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 in Torino.
Cristiano Ronaldo punctuated the victory with a goal in the 88th minute, converting a through-ball from Paulo Dybala that nutmegged Bayer defender Sven Bender (via TUDN):

Federico Bernardeschi scored the second goal for Juve, which rebounded from a draw two weeks ago at Atletico Madrid in which it conceded the equalizer in the 90th minute.
Manchester City dominates, though doesn’t light up scoreboard
The scoreline was closer than expected. The run of play was not.
City absolutely hounded possession against Dinamo Zagreb, and even though it didn’t lead to many shots on goal, a gorgeous piece of team play put the Premier League champions up after the hour mark. Raheem Sterling finished off a build-up that included incisive passes from Rodri and Riyad Mahrez (via Bleacher Report):

City youngster Phil Foden, the “most talented player” Pep Guardiola’s ever seen, added the second with effectively the final kick of the game as the hosts caught Dinamo Zagreb pressing for an equalizer.
The English giants top Group C with two wins from two matches, and with Atalanta and Shakhtar Donetsk also in the group, this might be the most they’re challenged before the knockout stage.
Joao Felix scores first Champions League goal for Atletico Madrid
Atleti scored twice out of the halftime break to beat Lokomotiv Moscow 2-0.
Big summer signing Joao Felix opened his Champions League account in the 48th minute, running in behind Alvaro Morata’s charge down the right side and cleaning up his own miss (via Bleacher Report):

Thomas Partey added the second goal 10 minutes later. Atleti and Juventus are now level on four points atop Group D, with Juve slightly ahead on goal difference.
PSG carves up Galatasaray for winner
Paris Saint-Germain beat Galatasaray 1-0 and capitalized on Real Madrid’s draw earlier in the day to take a commanding lead atop Group A.
PSG has a full six points after two matches, while Club Brugge is second with just two. A splendid sequence of teamwork led to the goal, with Pablo Sarabia settling Marco Verratti’s first-time ball and leaving Mauro Icardi a sitter at the back post:
