The controversies around Sean “Diddy” Combs keep piling up. In the aftermath of the release of shocking footage showing the music mogul physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, more alleged victims and industry insiders have come forward to reveal their own negative experiences with Combs. The latest person to put Diddy in the internet crosshairs is Chaka Khan’s daughter, Indira Khan.
The 2016 surveillance footage shows Diddy dragging, kicking and pushing Cassie as she tries to leave their hotel room. Combs responded to the disturbing behavior with an apology video on Instagram where he said in part, he takes “full responsibility for my actions in that video,” adding “I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now.”
Based on the replies to his video, the internet didn’t have much respect for his so-called apology, and that includes Khan. Among the comments on the post, she wrote that she was “dancing” over the rapper/producer’s downfall, because he was disrespectful to her legendary mother.
“I’m glad this is happening to you, you got in my mothers face and publicly disrespected her yelling and screaming like a lunatic,” Indira wrote. “When my little brother tried to get you out of my mothers face your security jumped my 19 year old brother. These may be your dark days but I’m singing and dancing watching your demise @chakakhan isn’t it great mom.”
Though rumors about his aggressive behavior have circulated for years, Diddy’s power, wealth and influence have protected him from any serious consequences. Now, with this damning footage out there for the whole world to see, he can no longer deny some of the allegations against him. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see more stories about inappropriate or troubling interactions with other artists come to light. And let’s not forget that there are also several sexual harassment and sexual assault lawsuits pending against him.
Just so it’s clear, if Diddy is out here screaming in Chaka Khan’s face, that’s just another reason to be done with him. We respect our legends in this house!
