Chainsaw Man chapter 164 recap: Denji looks for Nayuta

Chainsaw Man chapter 164, titled “Charred Remains,” begins where the previous chapter left off. Previously, War Devil Yoru had kicked Denji, which had him writhing in pain. However, the recent chapter shows him calling out for Nayuta while War Devil Yoru observes him.

When Denji asks for Nayuta’s whereabouts, Yoru seems confused and asks who she is. The latter asks if Denji is dreaming and offers to wake him by pulling his starter cord. However, Denji stops her and admits to fighting her if she helps him find Nayuta.

Before Yoru can say anything, Asa returns to his body and follows Denji to his home with the rest of the group. Unfortunately, Denji and Nayuta’s home has turned to debris, but the protagonist searches through it. Stopping Denji, War Devil Yoru helps him recall that armed adults attacked Nayuta when he escaped. She also advises him to quit sulking and accept reality.

Without saying a word, Denji continues to search through the rubble. Asa regains control of the body and holds Denji’s hand. She tells him she understands his feelings and offers to help him. However, a frustrated Denji snaps at her, stating that it makes no sense that Asa kicks him and then shows kindness at the other moment.

A spellbound Asa asks him to turn into Chainsaw Man and fight her so that he can live a normal life. However, Denji tells her that whenever he turns into Chainsaw Man, it leads to a horrific aftermath. Besides, his priority at the moment was to find Nayuta.

Upon hearing this, Asa prompts Fami to say something. The latter replies that Denji might be hungry. Hence, Asa asks Denji what he wants to eat, and Denji responds that he wants sushi. However, Asa answers that she hates sushi and that he could have anything but sushi. Even so, Denji remains persistent in having sushi.
