Chad Michael Murray says “can't see a world where" a 'One Tree Hill' reboot does not happen.

There may be a trip to Tree Hill in Chad Michael Murray’s future!

The One Tree Hill actor, who played heartthrob Lucas Scott for six of the show's nine seasons, believes a reboot of beloved teen drama — in fact, he "can't see a world” in which the show doesn't come back in some form.

“Something will happen. Whether we get everybody together and do a live reading of the show, or we create a new fictional future episode, I don't know what it will be," Murray, 42, told E! News.

The Sullivan's Crossing star continued, “This show has changed and shaped so many young people's lives. There's a place for it for today's cultural shifts and the things that need to be addressed.”

Murray thinks it's time to “do a new generation of the show” that takes the issues young people are facing today into account, “from social media to racial injustice to [the] LGBT community to everything that's out there.”

“So people can feel like they belong and that they are loved,” he added. “That's what we need.”

The Gilmore Girls actor also told E! News that he has “evolved in too many ways to count” since his One Tree Hill days.

"I had a really scarred heart, to be candid with you, growing up," he told the outlet, adding that he “didn't have the greatest childhood."

"So due to those events, I protected myself and I would never open up or allow people to truly know how I felt so that I wouldn't get hurt," he added.

The actor and father of three — two sons, ages 8 and 6, and a 3-month-old daughter with wife Sarah Roemer — said he is now “more affected by the world” and “by others' pain.”

“I've kind of [taken] that scar, and peeled it away so that I can truly love,” he told E! News. “Because there's always got to be a day where you look at yourself in the mirror and you say, 'Who do I want to be? What do I wanna be?’”

Murray — who starred in iconic movies like Freaky Friday and A Cinderella Story — also said that all he wants to be remembered for is being “a great father and a great husband.”

“That's how I want to be known,” he said, adding, “nothing else genuinely matters to me."

And while he remembers his days in Tree Hill fondly, fatherhood has been the “best chapter” of his life.

"I have learned more about myself through the eyes of my kids than anything because they're honest. They're so true," the actor E! News. “They'll tell you how it is and they'll tell you what you're doing, and they will mirror your actions. You learn a lot about yourself and selflessness and just loving and giving. It's been by far — not even close — the best chapter of my life so far.”

“I wouldn't trade it for anything,” he added.

Murray also acknowledged One Tree Hill this past Sept. 23 on the 20th anniversary of its pilot episode.

"Happy 20th Fam #3" he wrote in a post soundtracked by the series’ theme song, "I Don't Want to Be" by Gavin DeGraw.

"If you'd have asked me back in 2003... Never in my wildest dreams would I've thought we'd still have this magical bond" he continued, adding fist-bumping hand emojis, as well as "Grateful” alongside a prayer emoji.

In November, shortly after the series rang in two decades, a group of Murray’s castmates — including Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton Morgan, Danneel Ackles, Bevin Prince, Stephen Colletti, Austin Nichols, Matt Barr — gathered on the original One Tree Hill set for an in-person reunion.
