Success stories often start from humble beginnings and finding any way to make ends meet. Former NFL player Chad Johnson recently described being a stripper before he was catching touchdowns in the NFL.

“I used to strip at The Right Track. I used to be a dancer,” the 45-year-old podcaster said during a recent live stream. “I could tell you cause we family. [In] 1997, I was in LA. My mom was out there but I really couldn’t live with my mama, so I had a place in Santa Monica. Sometimes I was short on my light bill. Them candles, light ’em. I used to strip. I used to be a dancer. If anybody in the chat is from LA that’s a little bit older, I used to strip at The Right Track. I bullsh*t you not.”

He went on to describe how lucrative the opportunity was and how he maximized his profit by targeting a specific group of women. “Back then, you danced for the big women,” Johnson said. “The big women tip you good. You know having $2,500, $3,000 back in 1997 as a little kid, you know how much money that is? Boy, I was making a killing.” Check out the live stream below.

This wasn’t the first time Chad Johnson spoke about his stripper career. In 2018, he joined Barstool along with Uncle Luke and said his dance moves while in the NFL originated from his days stripping. He said back then that the key was to dance for the “healthy women,” and that he only danced for two years because he was ineligible to play football while attending Santa Monica College.

Ochocinco played in the NFL from 2001 to 2012, spending the majority of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals before joining the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins for one year each. He was a three-time First Team All-Pro wide receiver, one-time Second Team All-Pro, six-time Pro Bowler, and led the league in receiving in 2006.
