A Certain Ratio Announce First Album in 12 Years, Share New Song: Listen

English post-punk band A Certain Ratio have announced their first studio album in 12 years: ACR Loco arrives September 25 via Mute. The group has also shared a new single called “Always in Love” ahead of the LP’s release. Listen to that below and scroll down for the album’s tracklist and cover art.

ACR Loco features the band’s core lineup of Jez Kerr, Martin Moscrop, and Donald Johnson, with contributions from the ACR live line up: Tony Quigley, Denise Johnson, and Matt Steele. Additional guests include Sink Ya Teeth’s Maria Uzor and Gemma Cullingford, Gabe Gurnsey (of Factory Floor), the Smiths’ Mike Joyce, and Eric Random.

“This album is a culmination of everything we’ve ever done,” Jez Kerr said in a press release. Martin Moscrop added, “Digging into the past for the boxset [ACR:BOX was released in 2019 on Mute] must have rubbed off on us and influenced the current album. I think it helped spark up our imagination. It allowed us to work in some of the past as we move forward into the future.”

A Certain Ratio’s last studio album was 2008’s Mind Made Up.
