Central Ohio Fall Home Show to feature demonstrations, giveaways and HGTV star

A weekend of inspiration awaits longtime, new and aspiring homeowners at the Ohio Expo Center, where the Central Ohio Fall Home Show will take place beginning Friday.

Presented by Rosati Windows, the three-day event will feature more than 170 home experts, demonstrations, tastings, giveaways and special guest Joe Mazza, a licensed home inspector and star of HGTV’s “What’s Wrong That That House?”

Taking place alongside Oktoberfest, the show will also include an announcement of the winners of the Dispatch Backyard Garden Awards, presented by Oakland Nurseries.

Below is everything you need to know before you go.

When and where is the Central Ohio Fall Home Show?

The Central Ohio Fall Home Show will take place Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Bricker Building at Ohio Expo Center, 717 E. 17th Ave.

How much is admission?

Admission is free for all ages for both the Central Ohio Fall Home Show and Oktoberfest

What about parking?

Parking at the fairgrounds is $7, and can be found off East 17th Avenue, but not off 11th Avenue. Shuttles sponsored by Essential Sleep Solutions will run between the Central Ohio Fall Home Show and Oktoberfest on Saturday and Sunday.

When will Joe Mazza speak?

HGTV’s Joe Mazza will appear on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Simple Bath Simple Kitchen Home Stage. The home inspector will speak about his background and offer tips for things to watch for when buying or renting a home.

When will the Dispatch Backyard Garden Awards be given?

The ceremony for the garden awards, presented by Oakland Nurseries, will take place Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Simple Bath Simple Kitchen Home Stage. The awards honor the best in home landscaping, vegetable gardening, container gardening, community gardening, native plant gardening, perennial gardening and more. Winners will take home approximately $3,000 in Oakland Nursery gift cards.

  • Dog training demo with Gigi Dog Training, sponsored by Fast Response Heating & Cooling, at 11 a.m. on Friday

  • Wine tasting with Donnie Austin from Ardvark Wine & Beer at 4 p.m. on Friday

  • Family-friendly demonstrations from Center of Science and Industry (COSI) at 11 a.m. on Saturday

  • Container gardening with Ohio State University Master Gardener Volunteer Kathy Orr at 2 p.m. on Saturday

  • Family-friendly demonstrations from the Ohio Wildlife Center at 11 a.m. on Sunday

  • Cupcake demo from Our CupCakery at 2 p.m. on Sunday
