Katy Perry’s Play residency in Las Vegas came to a close on Saturday night with its final show at the Resorts World Theatre. The last chance to catch the singer’s hit-filled performance brought out a crowd of stars, including Celine Dion, who only recently began making public appearances again after revealing in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome.

“I’m Katy Perry, if you’re wondering,” the singer joked on stage, adding: “I’m not Celine Dion. That show is coming up next!” In October 2021, Dion’s own Las Vegas residency was delayed due to medical concerns. The show was initially scheduled to run from November 2021 through February 2022. It has been delayed indefinitely, as has her Courage world tour, which was canceled when all of her performances through 2023 and 2024 were scrapped.

The rare neurological condition Dion was diagnosed with impacts her day-to-day quality of life with sporadic spasms that impact her ability to walk and the use of her vocal cords. Both herself and her family have shared updates over the past few months regarding her health and recovery process.

“Even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again,” Dion shared in a statement earlier this year. “I want you all to know, I’m not giving up… and I can’t wait to see you again!”

Also in the audience at Perry’s closing show were Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden, Zoe Saldana, and the singer and Orlando Bloom’s own daughter, Daisy Dove. It marked the three-year-old’s first public appearance.
