Céline Dion addresses romance rumors with dancer Pepe Muñoz, says their friendship 'evolved'

Céline Dion is 50 and feeling fabulous. In a new interview with the U.K.’s the Sun, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer revealed she is in a great place in her life, three years after the death of her husband René Angélil.

“To be honest with you, I think I’m at the best of my life right now and I really want to enjoy and embrace every moment of it,” Dion declared. “It’s all new. It’s like I’m having a second wind — 50 has been great for me.”

One thing she is enjoying more of is bold fashion choices, a change from the more conservative style she embraced around her manager and husband. Dion and Angélil were married for over 21 years.

“The way that we used to work before was more conservative,” Dion said, saying her looks are not about “trying to take chances” but rather finding outfits that make her “feel attractive.”

“I’m doing this for me. I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy,” she said. As for criticism of her style and, recently, her thinner frame, Dion isn’t here for body shamers.

“If I like it, I don’t want to talk about it. Don’t bother. Don’t take a picture,” she fired back. “If you like it, I’ll be there. If you don’t, leave me alone.”

Dion has that same approach for speculation over her rumored new romance. The Grammy-winning songstress has frequently been spotted with a 34-year-old dancer, Pepe Muñoz.

“The press said, ‘Oh my God, Rene just passed and now there’s another man,'” she said. “Yeah, there’s another man in my life but not THE man in my life.”

Dion and Munoz have been photographed together over the past two years all around the world and she says the attention has been “difficult” for him.

“It was probably overwhelming for him at the beginning when we started working together because we were dancing together,” she admitted, coyly adding: “We bonded right away as friends, we had a good time. It evolved.”

The singer said Munoz is with her all the time because he helps style and train her so she is in great shape. “We’re friends, we’re best friends. Of course, we hug and hold hands and go out, so people see that,” she admitted. “I mean, he’s a gentleman. He’s giving me his hand to go out.”

As for whether it angers her that people think she already moved on, Dion replied, “I don’t mind because he’s handsome and he’s my best friend.”

Dion affirmed she is “single,” joking: “By the way, when I say, ‘I am single,’ please, leave me alone. Thanks.”
