Bryan: A few facts that illustrate the political divide in this country and why the middle 10% will decide the upcoming Presidential Race: 1. Republicans have won 5 of the last 8 presidential elections 2. The Republican average margin of victory (popular vote) in its last 4 wins is only 1.9% however 3. The last first term Republican president to win the popular vote was Bush 32 years ago 4. Over the last 13 presidential elections (since 1968) only two have been decided by more than 10 points (Nixon in 1972, Reagan in 1984), and none since Reagan in 1984 The demographics of this country are changin and the Republicans are slowly losing control of the country. As the left and right grow further appart it's critical that the middle 10% of the country take the resonsibility of voting seriously, as they will be the defacto electorate this year.
