A Celebration Inspired by the Lake Where They Were Engaged
It all started in Lake Tahoe, where this sweet couple was engaged and later drew inspiration when designing their wedding. From the blue linens meant to mirror the skies, to the ghost chairs representing the crystal clear waters and the vibrant blooms by Laura's Floras as a nod to the wild flowers of the area, every detail coordinated by Sydney Camille Events holds a special meaning. From the photographer...What really stood out to me about Lindsey and Bill's wedding was the infusion of sentimentality throughout the day. Every detail was intentionally selected because of its meaning. From the choice of locations to the color palette and decor, Lindsey and Bill created an experience that truly told the story of their relationship. One of my favorite examples of this relates to the calligraphy: knowing about Lindsey's interest in calligraphy, Bill signed Lindsey up for a calligraphy class as a gift. Inspired by the thoughtfulness of her groom-to-be, Lindsey decided to incorporate her own custom calligraphy into the wedding as a personalized touch to the guest envelopes and place cards. From the bride...At every point in our wedding, we tried to share something that is important to us with the closest of our family members and friends. We were married at Mission Santa Clara de Asís, because we met just a short distance away from the front doors of the church. We fell in love spending time outdoors, traveling, and enjoying nature, so we knew our reception had to be somewhere outside. Accordingly, we planned a summer wedding to guarantee our guests would enjoy the California sun. The Los Altos History Museum provided the perfect outdoor backdrop for the intimate dinner party we shared with our guests. Our family is the most important part of our life together, and we kept them close to heart throughout our big day. I loved that Billy did not choose a best man but instead had his three younger brothers stand by his side. Honoring the strong women who have guided my life, I wore my great grandmother's wedding band on my right hand. We carved out a special time during the ceremony to surprise our parents with hugs and words of thanks. To complete the day, both Billy and I got to spend a few special one-on-one moments with his daughter--my stepdaughter!--and remind her of our love for her. Over the years, Billy and I have enjoyed many trips to our favorite place, Lake Tahoe, which was eventually where he proposed! Our reception details were all inspired by the lake: warm blue linens to reflect the mountain sky, ghost chairs as a nod to the clear, calm waters, mixed metallics to remind us of sunsets over the lake, and vibrant florals resembling the wildflowers of the Tahoe mountains. We took stones from the shores of the spot where we got engaged, and I turned them into place cards to set at every guest's seat. Every detail of our wedding represented a person, place, or memory significant to our relationship. It was an unforgettable joy to share it all with those nearest to us.
