Celebrate St. Patrick's Day early. Here's where to get McDonald's Shamrock Shake

St. Patrick's Day is coming early for fans of McDonald's Shamrock Shake, which became available on Monday.

In addition to the Shamrock Shake, McDonald's unveiled the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry this year, a take on the traditional Oreo McFlurry with mint flavoring.

With any purchase of a Shamrock Shake or Oreo Shamrock McFlurry, McDonald's will donate 25 cents to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks is made up of two Ronald McDonald Houses, the first of which opened in 1988 near Cox South Hospital at 949 E. Primrose St. The second house opened in 2012 on the sixth floor of Mercy Kids at 1235 E. Cherokee St.

Ronald McDonald Houses serve as "homes-away-from-home" for guardians of children staying at hospitals. Each family is given their own room with a bed, kitchen and laundry facility, according to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks website. Donated food items are also available to the families, in case they are needed.

What's in a Shamrock Shake?

According to the McDonald's mobile app, the Shamrock Shake contains milk, sugar, cream, corn syrup, natural flavorings, mono and diglycerides, cellulose gum, guar gum, carrageenan and Vitamin A Palmitate. The Oreo Shamrock McFlurry contains the same ingredients with added Oreo cookies.

The Shamrock Shake contains 500 calories in a small, 540 in a medium and 800 in a large. The Oreo Shamrock McFlurry contains 560 calories.
