Pumpkin patches and corn mazes in Phoenix: Hayrides, petting zoos and loads of family fun

What do you think when the word “autumn” comes to mind? Probably the famous pumpkin spice latte and all the variations of it. Or maybe you think of Halloween and pumpkin patches and twisty corn mazes.

Arizona farms and other venues offer many pumpkin patches and fall-themed attractions for outdoor fun. You can expect corn mazes, hayrides and family-friendly activities like face painting and games.

While our desert climate differs from other states, we can still celebrate the season, enjoy an afternoon or evening out with family and friends and find the perfect pumpkin. Maybe more than one.

Mother Nature’s Farm

Enjoy a wide range of fresh pumpkins, fall decorations, specialty treats and a picnic-friendly atmosphere at Mother Nature’s Farm in Gilbert. This family-owned and -operated farm offers a straw-bale maze, bounce house, hayride and more.

Vertuccio Farms

Vertuccio Farms in Mesa celebrates the return of fall with its annual Cooler Days in the Corn Maze event, offering a variety of outdoor activities. The festival features a 5-acre corn maze, a petting zoo and carnival games.

Schnepf Farms' annual Pumpkin and Chili Festival offers pumpkin picking and a chili cook-off where festival-goers can sample the dishes and vote for their favorites. There's also live entertainment, food vendors, carnival rides and games, hayrides, corn mazes, petting zoos and farm tours.

Tolmachoff Farms

Tolmachoff Farms in Glendale presents Pumpkin Days. Visitors can explore the pumpkin patch and choose their favorites, wind through the 6-acre corn maze and enjoy the petting zoo, play areas and jumping pillow.

MacDonald is back with its annual pumpkin patch. There will be a petting zoo, hay-bale maze, pedal cars and track for kids, photo areas, a scavenger hunt and lawn games such as Jenga and Connect Four.

Halloween Town Pumpkin Patch

Halloween Town brings the joy and spooky vibes of Halloween to Chandler Fashion Center. This mini amusement park has rides, games and other attractions.

With 4 acres of sunflowers that should begin blooming around Oct. 15, plus sorghum and cotton fields, Rocker 7 Farm Patch in Buckeye is a great spot for family photos as well as pumpkin buying.

Mortimer Farms

Take a road trip north of Phoenix to the Pumpkin Fest & Corn Maze at Mortimer Farms in Dewey. You'll find an expansive corn maze, pumpkin picking, farm-inspired rides, shows and a wide array of food options. The event runs from September to November, with various activities and entertainment available throughout the season.

Justice Brothers Ranch
