Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party with Cape Codders

On the night of Dec. 16, 1773, a group of Patriots dumped more than 300 chests of tea into Boston Harbor to protest against taxes they were forced to pay by the King of England and Parliament despite not being represented in the British government.

The rebellion, now famously known as the Boston Tea Party, caused shock waves throughout the colonies and was one of the inciting incidents of what would become the American Revolution.

Now, 250 years later, a lot has changed in the nation. What once were 13 colonies have spread to 50 states and the United States and the United Kingdom get along — for the most part. In celebration of the monumental milestone, several places on Cape Cod are hosting shindigs of their own. Here's where to revel on Cape Cod in some patriotic glory for the 250th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party .
