A slew of celebrities stopped by the Vintage Frames Company and artist Trevor “Trouble” Andrew limited edition exhibition and launch party at the flagship store in The Goodtime Hotel during Art Basel 2023.

CeeLo, Noreaga, Tyga, and more VIP guests attended the PATRÓN-sponsored event last weekend (Dec. 8). Kenny Burns, HXLT, Miss Me, Mr. Miami, Weslye Saunders and more enjoyed cocktails throughout the night provided by PATRÓN EL ALTO, the exclusive spirits sponsor of the night. Sirius XM Radio’s Shade 45 Statik Selektah Showoff Radio Show deejayed of the night and broadcasted live for the first time.

After working on the collaboration for two years, Vintage Frames Company ceo and founder Corey Shapiro and Andrew finally presented the two collaborative sunglasses. Guests who purchased one of the 50 limited edition prints based on Andrew’s “Dirty Cig Series,” customers received a pair of matching sunglasses retailing at $1,000.

The collaboration’s packaging for the frames mimicked a cigarette box. Encased in the “pack” of cigarettes, both pairs of sunglasses utilized cigarettes as the arms of the frame to express cigarettes’ ironic fashionability in the ‘80s and ‘90s. frame. The original artwork that inspired the collaboration was designed as a juxtaposition of the idealistic “American Man” made popular at that time  and how that character is translated into the 21st century. The collaboration embodies this modern-day persona, in a world where it’s fashionable
to be a non-smoker and where gender is not a primary focus of what it means to be “cool.”
