2024 Cedar Point dragster: Top Thrill 2 strata-coaster

Cedar Point's newest ride in 2024 is a new and improved version of the Top Thrill Dragster now known as Top Thrill 2, but the strata-coaster was shut down almost as quickly as the ride opened, the Detroit Free Press reported.

No re-opening date has been confirmed for fans anxiously awaiting an opportunity to try the coaster. The release states an extended closure is necessary for the ride’s manufacturer − Zamperla − completes a mechanical modification to the ride's vehicles.

Cedar Point's maintenance and operations teams and their third-party ride inspection partner will conduct a thorough review before approving both the modification and the reopening of the ride.
