CBS Renews ‘Evil’ for Season 2, Gives 4 Freshman Series Full-Season Orders
Good for “Evil”: Robert and Michelle King’s “Evil” has been renewed for a second season at CBS.
On Tuesday, the network also handed out full current-season orders to its other four freshmen: drama “All Rise” and comedies “Carol’s Second Act,” “The Unicorn” and “Bob Hearts Abishola.”
“Evil” will still wrap its first season with its originally planned 13-episode run. Season 2 is set to premiere in the 2020-21 broadcast season.

From the creators of “The Good Fight” and “The Good Wife,” “Evil” premiered Sept. 26. It centers on skeptical but open-minded psychologist Kristen Bouchard (“Manhattan” star Katja Herbers), who meets and begins working with priest-in-training David Acosta (“Luke Cage” star Mike Colter) and a blue-collar contractor (Aasif Mandvi) to determine whether or not a man on trial for a string of grisly murders was driven to by demonic possession. The series also stars Michael Emerson as Leland Townsend, an expert witness to the defense with something sinister up his sleeve.

“Evil” airs Thursdays at 10/9c on CBS.
