CBS to Extend OTT Service CBSN Local to 11 More Markets by 2020

CBS Television and CBS Interactive plan to roll out their news-focused streaming service CBSN Local to all 13 major U.S. markets where they have local operations, the companies announced on Thursday afternoon. As the name implies, CBSN Local is a local version of the company’s 24/7 digital channel that curates news based on geographical location. Currently, CBSN Local is available for Los Angeles and New York, which debuted in December and June, respectively. CBSN Boston is expected to launch in the coming months, with CBSN San Francisco Bay Area scheduled to make its debut during later this year. The company expects all curated CBSN Local streams to be live by early 2020.
