CBS Developing ‘How May We Hate You’ NY Hotel Comedy From ‘The Office’ Alum

Former The Office co-executive producer Warren Lieberstein is returning to the workplace comedy genre with the multi-camera How May We Hate You, set at CBS. It hails from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and CBS TV Studios.

Written by Lieberstein, How May We Hate You is an ensemble comedy based on the book of the same name by Anna Drezen and Todd Dakotah Briscoe. It revolves around the employees at a trendy New York City hotel.

Lieberstein executive produces with Kaplan, Dana Honor and Wendi Trilling.

This marks a reunion with Kaplan for Lieberstein who also was a co-executive on Kapital’s ABC comedy series Back in the Game.

This is Kapital Entertainment’s latest comedy sale this season at CBS, where the company has sophomore single-camera comedy series Life in Pieces. How May I Hate you joins Dan Kopelman single-camera comedy project Me, Myself & I, which has a pilot production commitment, another single-camera comedy, Hannah Royce’s Questionable Choices written by Matt Tarses, as well as three multi-camera comedies — 9J, 9K, and 9Lfrom Dana Klein and Mark Feuerstein, Liz Feldman’s Family Business, and a project from Corinne Kingsbury.

Briscoe is a writer and performer with political sketch comedy show Political Subversities. Drezen is a comedian currently working as a writer for Saturday Night Live.

Lieberstein, Drezen and Briscoe are repped by Paradigm. Lieberstein is also repped by his attorney, Jared Levine, and Heroes & Villains Entertainment.
