Cavs’ Isaiah Mobley registers second 30-point double-double in G League

Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Isaiah Mobley on Friday registered another 30-point double-double on assignment in the G League to lead the Cleveland Charge to a win over the Wisconsin Herd.

Mobley produced 30 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and one block in the 115-96 victory. He finished by shooting 11-of-20 from the field, including 3-of-5 from 3-point range, in 33 minutes of work as the Charge improved to 4-1 in the regular season.

The 49th pick is one of seven players in the G League this season with multiple games of at least 30 points and 10 rebounds. He previously totaled 30 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and one block on Dec. 19 in a win over the College Park Skyhawks.

Mobley, who is signed to a two-way contract, is averaging 23.2 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.4 blocks on 40.4% shooting from 3-point range in 13 games. He is seventh in the G League in scoring and 12th in rebounding among players that have at least 13 appearances.

The 23-year-old has totaled 26 minutes in eight appearances this season with the Cavaliers. He has spent the majority of the year in the G League with the Charge as part of his two-way contract in an effort to develop and improve on the court.

The organization wants Mobley to get as many minutes as possible to grow as a player with playing time at a premium in Cleveland. They believe he has a bright future ahead and he has certainly shown what he can bring to the court.
