Lady Gaga once sang in her LGBTQ anthem, “Don’t be a drag, just be a queen.” But apparently, you can be both! Yes, in best RuPaul’s Drag Race guest-star booking since the Hello Kitty Challenge of Season 7, Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga, will appear on the Logo show’s Season 9 premiere this March.
Logo promises that Gaga’s episode will feature “a shocking opening that will go down as one of the most jaw-dropping moments in Drag Race history.” This announcement comes during an especially exciting week for Gaga, with the superstar pulling off one of the greatest Super Bowl shows of all time (may the best woman win, indeed) and preparing to perform with Metallica at this Sunday’s 59th Annual Grammy Awards.
Incidentally, this isn’t the first time that Lady Gaga has joined forces with Emmy-winning host RuPaul to create must-see TV. The two also dueted on her Muppets holiday special in 2013. But now Gaga joins an illustrious list of musical Drag Race guest stars that includes Natalie Cole, Demi Lovato, Adam Lambert, Henry Rollins, Blondie, Fantasia, Tanya Tucker, Faith Evans, Destiny’s Child’s Michelle Williams, Wynonna Judd, Jody Watley, the Supremes’ Mary Wilson, Olivia Newton-John, and Paula Abdul.
