‘Catfish’ Series Producer David Metzler Inks Overall Deal With Critical Content

Catfish: The TV Show executive producer David Metzler has signed an overall deal with Critical Content, the studio behind the popular MTV series. Under the pact, Metzler will continue as showrunner on Catfish. Additionally, he and and his production shingle Free Range Media will develop and produce new series and formats for the independent studio.

Prolific unscripted producer Metzler co-created, produced and directed the hit Bravo reality series, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. His credits also include creating, developing and producing such series as The Lazy Environmentalist for Sundance Channel, and executive producing Big Ideas for a Small Planet. Metzler has won a Best Reality Series Primetime Emmy Award for Queen Eye, a PGA Award, two Environmental Media Awards and two GLAAD Media Awards.

Queer Eye has had 20 international versions produced and has aired in over 120 countries. Catfish currently airs all over the world and has local versions being produced in several territories.
