When to catch Bucks County drama director on Netflix's 'Squid Game: The Challenge.'

If not for the encouragement of her students, Harry S. Truman High School drama director Tracey Gatte may have never considered flying to London to participate in the Netflix gameshow, "Squid Game: The Challenge."

"What’s the worst that could happen?" Gatte rhetorically asked, according to a press release. "My Theatre 3 class shot and edited my audition video, and within three days, Netflix called me."

Gatte was one of hundreds of contestants in Netflix's gameshow, and here's more about Gatte's appearance, and when to stream future episodes.

Gatte's appearance on 'Squid Game: The Challenge,' celebrated by school

Gatte is one of the more than 460 entrants in "Squid Game: The Challenge," and according to a post on Truman High's Facebook page, Gatte's was pushed to participate by her students at the Bristol Township school.

The first five episodes are out now, according to the district.

According to a release, Gatte flew to London to shoot the show, and was ordered to keep her appearance confidential. Gatte is barred from dishing on any of the episodes prior to their airing.

When to stream 'Squid Game: The Challenge'

The first batch of "Squid Game: The Challenge" episodes can be streamed now on Netflix.

According the streaming service, future episodes of "Squid Game: The Challenge" will be released in batches.

The batch 2 release of four episodes will be on Wednesday, Nov. 29, while the one-episode batch 3 finale will be streamed on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

What is 'Squid Game: The Challenge'

According to Netflix, 456 players will compete to win $4.56 million, the largest cash prize in Netflix's reality TV history. And no, the eliminated players do not face the same grim demise as the characters in the original show.

"As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show — plus surprising new additions — their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them," the synopsis reads.

"Squid Game" premiered on Netflix in September 2021. The first season of the South Korean blockbuster consisted of nine episodes that were all released at the same time.
