Cat begs her owner for a late-night walk in the most adorable way

Unlike most domesticated cats, Arya likes to go for walks with her owner. Although the notoriously antisocial felines like the outdoors, they can be quite difficult to leash train. Arya is one of the exceptions — in fact, she seems quite fond of her own red leash, according to TikTok

The tiny cat doesn’t seem to care about the time either. In one video, she waltzed into her owner’s bedroom one night at 11 p.m. for a late-night stroll.

In the video, Arya trots in, carrying her leash by its harness in her mouth. The handle drags behind her as she approaches her owner.

“It’s too late to go for a walk,” the owner says. “I’m sorry.”

Arya softly meows and the disappointment is discernible. She can’t help being nocturnal!

The adorable video racked up 2.6 million views on TikTok. Let’s just say, Arya evoked a lot of sympathy from the commentariat.

“You better take that precious little angel right now!” one user joked.

“Take that poor baby for a walk. My heart has melted,” someone wrote.

“I don’t care if it’s 3 a.m., if your cat brings her leash to you with that little face, she deserves a walk,” a person commented.

So why did Arya adapt to her leash where other cats have failed? There are a few things cat owners can do to acclimate their cats to leashes. The most important thing is to opt for a harness instead of a collar. Cats easily squirm out of collars, which can be uncomfortable for their necks. A lightweight jacket harness is recommended because they can’t wriggle out and it’s secured around their body.

Like any other pet, cats should be rewarded with treats for good behavior while training. And instead of walking the cat, be sure to let the cat direct you. This will help it maintain its independence and get used to the leash.
