A Castle In North Carolina: Learn All About The 'Austin Dillon's Life In The Fast Lane' Dinner Party

In the latest episode of “Austin Dillon’s Life In The Fast Lane,” Austin and his best friend and tire carrier Paul Swan realize all at once that they screwed up Valentine’s Day. Sure, they were busy with the Daytona race at the time, but that didn’t stop their teammates from treating their significant others to a special day.

After some none-too-subtle hints from Whitney and Mariel, the athletes go all-out to make it up to their wives by renting out Castle McCulloch for a special, dressed-to-the-nines dinner party. If you’re curious about the beautiful space, you’re not alone.

Located in Jamestown, North Carolina, Castle McCulloch is a restored, steam engine-powered gold refinery (making Whitney’s golden dress all the more appropriate) built by Cornish engineer Charles McCulloch. Originally completed in 1823, the space was refurbished in the 1980s by Richard Harris and is now maintained by the McCulloch Foundation. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, per the North Carolina ‘Pedia website. While the castle no longer refines gold, it has played host to countless weddings and events — similar to the Dillon-Swan dinner!

Speaking of dinner, why did the couples pick Olive Garden of all places? Well, as Paul had explained earlier in the episode and Mariel reiterates, Olive Garden has been her go-to pregnancy craving. And as Whitney says, date night means cheat night. Especially when you’re in a beautiful castle surrounded by loved ones!
