Sure, they were dysfunctional, a little competitive and certainly very eccentric, but Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang knew how to hunt a ghost, ghoul or conniving criminal down effectively. The beloved cartoon series — which first hit the small screens in 1969 — reached new heights when in 2002, Warner Bros. debuted a film version of the crime-solving gang.

It comes as no surprise that the film was a hit at the box office, raking in $257 million worldwide after being filmed on an $84 million budget, per IMDb.

From Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. to Isla Fisher, see what the stars of Scooby-Doo: The Movie have been up to since the film dropped so many years ago.

Fresh off the success of I Know What You Did Last Summer and its sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Freddie Prinze Jr. continued the spooky movie streak by taking on the role of Mystery Inc.'s wannabe main man, Fred Jones.

Though Scooby-Doo: The Movie found much success and became an instant classic, it was more than a film for Prinze Jr., who got to work with his then-fiancée Sarah Michelle Gellar.

The pair first met on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer in 1997 and though they "really didn't dig each other," they remained friends before their relationship turned romantic, and they wed in 2002.

The two share two kids together — daughter Charlotte Grace, whom they welcomed in 2009, and son Rocky James, who arrived in 2012.

Before stepping into the stylish detective shoes of Daphne Blake, Sarah Michelle Gellar was no stranger to being in an ensemble cast.

The talented actress had famously starred as the titular character on The WB's Buffy the Vampire Slayer for seven seasons. She also snagged a role in Girl Interrupted alongside Angelina Jolie, Brittany Murphy and Winona Ryder and then, of course, she and Freddie Prinze Jr. had been in I Know What You Did Last Summer and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer with the likes of Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mekhi Phifer, Ryan Phillippe and Brandy.

Determined to get the gang back together was the goofy, out-there best pal to Scooby, Shaggy Rogers, who was portrayed by Matthew Lillard.

Like his other co-stars, Lillard was no stranger to making Halloween movies prior to joining the Scooby-Doo cast. The actor famously played Stu Macher in Scream, opposite Neve Campbell and Skeet Ulrich.

He would go on to become a fixture in the Scooby-Doo franchise, voicing Shaggy in several cartoons, including Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon, Scooby-Doo! and the Spooky Scarecrow as well as Scooby-Doo! Haunted Holidays and many more.

Lillard and wife Heather Helm have three children.

Getting all the jinkies was Linda Cardellini, who played the brains of the operation, Velma Dinkley.

Though she went on to forge an illustrious career, which included roles in E.R., The Curse of La Llorana, Green Book, Mad Men, Dead to Me and plenty of others, many people will recognize Cardellini for her role as Chutney Windham, whose faulty perm story led Elle Woods to win her first court case in Legally Blonde.

Cardellini and her husband, Steven Rodriguez welcomed their daughter, Lilah-Rose, in February of 2012.

A young Isla Fisher sharpened her acting skills playing Shaggy's love interest, Mary Jane, in the movie.

The powerhouse actress has since launched an enormous career, starring in Definitely Maybe, Now You See Me, Wedding Crashers and the 2009 blockbuster hit, Confessions of a Shopaholic.

It seems Fisher has also found success in her personal life. The Australian native has been married to fellow actor Sacha Baron Cohen since 2010. The two share three kids: daughters Olivia, 16 and Elula, 13 and a son, Montgomery, 8.

Voicing the beloved Great Dane was Australian actor Neil Fanning. And while he lent his vocals to other films and series in the Scooby-Doo franchise, Fanning has kept a relatively low profile. According to IMDb, his last role was in 2016 when he played a roadhouse cop on the Australian TV series, Wanted.

Rowan Atkinson made his name playing the lovable, albeit accident-prone Mr. Bean. However, he turned a leaf playing Mondavarious, the villain in Scooby-Doo: The Movie.

Since the 2002 film, the English actor has reprised his famous character in various movies, shorts and an animated series.
