Frozen

It's been 10 years and we still can't "Let It Go."

That's right, Disney's animated favorite Frozen turns 10 on Nov. 27, 2023, and in the years since, we've been treated to a sequel — with plans for movies 3 and 4 in the works!

Since Frozen's release, members of the A-list cast have shared fond memories about the movie, with Kristen Bell (Anna) most recently posting throwback photos from the film's Los Angeles premiere in 2013.

"10 yrs ago tonight, the #frozen premiere. A night that changed my life and solidified a forever family I adore," she wrote on Instagram alongside snaps with her costars.

Here, catch up with the voices behind Anna, Elsa, Olaf and the rest of the gang, then and now.

Idina Menzel as Elsa in Frozen

Tony-winning Broadway powerhouse Idina Menzel brought her vocal chops to the role of Elsa, the would-be queen of Arendelle who flees as her powers to freeze people and objects grow stronger.

"Frozen changed my life in so many ways," Menzel told The Guardian in 2023. "The film’s messaging resonated with young audiences. Through my character Elsa, I was thrown into being a role model for empowerment and self-esteem. I wanted to embrace that responsibility, while still having my own lessons to learn in my life. That has been something I love but also wrestle with."

Already known for her work on stage in Rent, Wicked and If/Then, plus on television in Glee when Frozen premiered, Menzel has continued working steadily, returning for 2019's Frozen II, releasing several albums and most recently, playing Adam Sandler's wife in the Netflix film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.

Menzel, now 52, is married to Aaron Lohr; she has one child, son Walker, 14, with ex-husband Taye Diggs.

Kristen Bell as Anna in Frozen

Kristen Bell was also a well-known entity prior to landing the role of Anna in Frozen, thanks to her extensive TV work on series like Heroes, Veronica Mars, Gossip Girl and Party Down (not to mention a little film called Forgetting Sarah Marshall).

In a 2019 chat with PEOPLE, Bell said Frozen "shook all the norms" of typical princess films.

"The happily ever after is not waiting for a kiss from your prince, which has sort of been the standard in literally every Hollywood movie," Bell said. "[Frozen] was about something that was just as deep, if not deeper, which was like the love of family."

"There were questions along the way the whole time: is this going to be important?" Bell continued. "We felt it was, and then when it came out, seeing kids elated about it and parents elated and having the movie affect people because they were interested in this new story, this new idea, that like 'oh yeah, let's explore the love of family, let's break some boundaries,' that, to me, was progress."

In the years since, she's also returned for Frozen II, in addition to films like Bad Moms and popular TV series including House of Lies, The Good Place and a Veronica Mars reboot.

Bell, 43, is married to actor Dax Shepard, with whom she has two daughters, Lincoln, 10, and Delta, 8.

Jonathan Groff as Kristoff and Sven in Frozen

Jonathan Groff was another Broadway star who made the move to Arendelle, voicing both Kristoff and Sven in Frozen after starring on stage in In My Life and earning a Tony nomination for Spring Awakening. He'd appeared on TV's Glee and Boss before Disney came knocking.

"I love that Kristoff is a Disney leading man with a sensitive side," Groff told EW in 2019. "That sort of enduring, supportive partner is, I think, a beautiful thing to have in an animated movie, both as an example for women of what they deserve and for men to take a page from Kristoff’s book."

Like his costars, Groff returned for Frozen II, also earning praise for his role on television's Looking. In 2015, he originated the role of King George in Broadway's Hamilton, scoring another Tony nomination and a Grammy win for his work.

Groff, 38, is currently back on Broadway in Merrily We Roll Along.

Josh Gad as Olaf in Frozen

Like his costars, Josh Gad had been busy on TV in Back to You and Woke Up Dead and on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and The Book of Mormon (for which he earned a Tony nomination) before transforming into happy snowman Olaf in Frozen.

Though his character brings laughs and feels with his childlike personality, Gad told Kelly Clarkson in 2020 that his kids actually "hate" when he voices Olaf at home.

"I tried for a while reading them Frozen books, and I thought it was so cool even though I do a horrible Anna and Elsa, but they were just over it, they didn't want it anymore," he said, later adding, "Usually they're not fans of me."

Other kids are, though: Olaf pops up in all sorts of Disney shorts, in addition to Frozen II, and Gad stayed in the Disney universe with a role in the live-action Beauty and the Beast. He's continued working steadily on screen and stage, too, most recently reuniting with The Book of Mormon costar Andrew Rannells on Broadway's Gutenberg! The Musical!.

Gad, 42, has been married to wife Ida Darvish since 2008; together they have two daughters, Ava, 12, and Isabella, 9.

Santino Fontana as Prince Hans in Frozen

Santino Fontana also got his start on — you guessed it! — Broadway, starring in Billy Elliot the Musical and Cinderella, among other shows, prior to voicing bad guy Prince Hans in Frozen.

"Hans is a Disney prince but he's more than a Disney prince," Fontana said in a 2013 interview with ScreenSlam. "There are a lot of secrets and twists and turns that we take with Hans, and you won't see them coming, which is great, and a great thing to play, an awesome character to play. Because he's not what he seems at first — but no one really is, in defense of Hans."

If you've seen Frozen, you know why Hans did not appear in Frozen II, though Fontana went on to good things, including TV's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Shades of Blue and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in addition to Broadway's Tootsie, for which he won a Tony in 2019. Like Gad and Groff, he's back on stage now, in Broadway's Fallen Angels.

Off-stage, Fontana, 41, is married to Jessica Hershberg, with whom he has one 4-year-old child.
