Casey White Prison Escape: Where Is the Fugitive Now?
Alabama inmate, Casey White, made a daring escape from the Lauderdale County Detention Center in April 2022. Corrections officer, Vicky White, reportedly assisted him in the ordeal. The duo, who were not related to each other, reportedly formed a clandestine romantic relationship at the facility.
CNN reported that Casey was captured following a car chase with authorities in Evansville, Indiana, eleven days later. He was taken into custody while Vicky died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The former then faced one count of felony murder stemming from the correction officer-turned-fugitive’s death.
The outlet reported that earlier this year in May, the convict pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of prison escape and was sentenced to life in June.

As previously mentioned, Casey White received a life sentence on the jailbreak charge stemming from his daring April 2022 escape with corrections officer Vicky White. Casey’s sentencing took place on June 8, 2023, after he pleaded guilty to first-degree prison escape. He is currently serving his sentence at William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility in Jefferson County, Alabama, per the U.S. Sun.
Casey reportedly professed his love for the deceased corrections officer at his sentencing. He told the court, “I feel like the most hated man in the world. I loved Vicky, and I wouldn’t drag her name through the mud for anyone in this courtroom. Vicky took me out because she said ‘right was right, wrong was wrong.'”
The convict further added, “We just wanted a new life together because she knew the truth. I can handle the truth because I know who I am. I chose this road. It’s cost me my life and freedom.”
The outlet reported that Casey was serving a 75-plus years sentence at Alabama’s Lauderdale County Detention Center. He had been convicted of attempted murder, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, and third-degree burglary, among other charges. Before that, he had also served time in prison on domestic violence charges.
Investigators believe that Casey and Vicky, who were not related, met at the facility and started a romantic relationship. The latter helped the inmate escape from the prison. Police officials located them a couple of days later on May 9. The fugitives were captured following a brief car chase. Vicky, who reportedly shot herself, was rushed to the hospital but died due to her injuries.
