Paramount+ has revealed that its next South Park special, South Park: Joining the Panderverse, is premiering on October 27th in the US and Canada. Along with the announcement, the streamer has unveiled a teaser trailer showing a topsy-turvy reality in which most of the main characters are female.
In the clip, Cartman, Stan, Butters, and Kenny are all gender-swapped versions of themselves. Meanwhile, Kyle serves as the voice of reason when he asks, “How does this even make any sense?” Watch the teaser trailer below.
“Cartman’s deeply disturbing dreams portend the end of the life he knows and loves,” the official logline reads. “The adults in South Park are also wrestling with their own life decisions as the advent of AI is turning their world upside down.”
South Park: Joining the Panderverse is the fifth Paramount+ special in Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s long-running franchise. It comes after South Park: Post Covid, South Park: Post Covid: The Return of Covid, South Park: The Streaming Wars, and South Park: The Streaming Wars Part 2.
The mainline series wrapped its 26th season this past March. Comedy Central picked up cable’s longest-running scripted series through 2027, which will bring it through a 30th season.
