ERIC EDHOLM: Well, if your team drafted a quarterback in the first round between 2009 and 2016, they are now playing for another team. Carson Wentz was traded to the Indianapolis Colts by the Philadelphia Eagles. And he became the 22nd quarterback drafted in round one during that time frame who has been dealt, joining Jared Goff earlier this off season.

Now, the Eagles get a 2021 third round pick and a conditional pick next year, a second rounder that could turn into a first depending on how much Carson Wentz plays. He's 28. He's coming off the worst statistical year of his career. He was also benched for Jalen Hurts.

It's pretty clear, though, that Philly wanted him gone. They're taking a massive cap hit as a result of this trade. But with the Colts following up Philip Rivers, who just retired, he's got a chance to revive his career with a better offensive line, pretty good receivers, and a strong run game.
