Carrie Underwood will be 'setting off airport metal detectors from now on' following surgery on broken wrist

Carrie Underwood has gone from the stage to the recovery room.

The country songstress, 34, shared on Wednesday that she had undergone surgery on her wrist, which she broke Friday outside her Nashville home. The operation has left her with some new hardware — the kind that can be a hassle for a frequent flier like herself.

“I just wanted let everyone know that I’m doing great,” Underwood tweeted. “Had surgery on my wrist yesterday & all went well…even though I’ll be setting off airport metal detectors from now on…I’m so thankful for the doctors, nurses, family & friends who’ve been taking such great care of me.”

Over the weekend it was reported that Underwood, fresh off co-hosting duties at the 2017 CMA Awards, had suffered “multiple injuries,” including a broken wrist, after taking a tumble on the stairs outside her home. She was also treated at the hospital for cuts and abrasions. Her husband, retired hockey player Mike Fisher, whom she wed in 2010, traveled back to Nashville overnight to be with her.

Shortly after Underwood got hurt, she took to Twitter to let her fans know that she’s been hanging in there. The singer, who has a 2-year-old son, wrote, “Thanks so much for all the well wishes everybody…I’ll be alright…might just take some time…glad I’ve got the best hubby in the world to take care of me.”

We’re sure she’s soaking up the TLC. Less exciting, of course, will be the extra time she’ll spend with the TSA.
