Carrie Underwood managed to melt Instagram's heart today – with a little help from 2019-born son Jacob. The "American Idol" winner and country superstar took to the platform to celebrate Jacob's first birthday on Tuesday, opting to break the pattern of keeping her family life private.

After Three Miscarriages, 'You Are Our True Miracle Baby'
Carrie's motherhood journey hasn't been an easy one. 2019 saw the "Cry Pretty" singer reveal her pain at having suffered three miscarriages in two years, with a hint of the failed pregnancies mentioned in a caption accompanying melt-worthy snaps of Jacob smashing a giant green cake.
"Happy birthday, Jacob! How are you already 1 year old? You are smiley, crazy, smart, soooo fast and into everything! And, apparently, you love cake! I can’t wait to see your personality continue to shine! I have a good feeling you’re going to keep us all on our toes for years to come!" Carrie wrote.

Carrie's post didn't take long to rake in the comments. Little Jacob sitting there in his army-print top was enough to melt many a heart, with the comments section to the singer's post quickly reflecting this.
"Heartthrob!!!! He loves it. So cute! Happy birthday baby boy. God has big plans for you😍," one fan wrote.
"Happy Birthday, Jacob! So sweet... Treasure every day, they grow up so fast. He is a cutie," another said.

'I Will Always Mourn Those Children': Carrie Opens Up About The Miscarriages
Carrie has been honest and open about the miscarriages. In 2019, the blonde revealed that the loss is still on her mind.
"But letting yourself go there ... other people that are going through the same thing. It kind of connects you to them. I will always mourn those children, those lives that were a shooting star, a breath of smoke, but I have Jacob, and he is incredible. He is the sweetest little baby. At the time it was awful, and it still hurts, but it’s kind of like 'OK, I have this,'" she said.
