Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, more stars react to tornado: 'Please pray for Nashville'

Carrie Underwood, Kelsea Ballerini and other Nashville stars are sending love and support to the city after a destructive tornado touched down early Tuesday in the area.

Country music star Underwood appeared on the "Today" show Tuesday morning to talk about her new book, "Find Your Path," but also touched on a scary night for her husband Mike Fisher and their two young sons Isaiah and Jacob.

"He said he had to go upstairs at like 2 a.m. and grab the boys and take them down to, we have like a little safe room in our house ... I bet everyone was crying at 2 a.m., like freaking out," she said.

She added that right now everyone is mostly "assessing" the situation and texting friends an family members to check that they are safe.

More celebrities are reacting, as well.

Miley Cyrus tweeted a photo of her and her family with a heartfelt message.

"Thinking about my home and family in Nashville and how fortunate I am that my place and loved ones have remained safe in these deadly tornados," she captioned the image. "My heart is broken for my home state. So much loss and damage. We are #NashvilleStrong and will rebuild together!"

Dolly Parton also sent her love in a video message posted to Twitter.

"Praying for all those affected by the devastating storms in Tennessee and my heart is especially with the families who lost loved ones," she captioned the clip. "We are all with you."

In the clip, Parton said: "Well I'm here on the job today, because as they say, the show must go on, but we had a lot of damage out in our area. I know a lot of Nashville was just devastated with the storms, and I just wanted all of you to know that we are all with you, and hope that your family's OK, and your property's going to be able to get mended pretty soon, get your lights back on. But just wanted you to know you're being thought of, and we love you, and sorry that it all happened to all of us..."

Country star Kelsea Ballerini asked how she could help and Nashville duo Dan + Shay shared a broken heart for East Nashville.
