Carrie Underwood was the Center of Attention at CMAs

The Country Music Awards aired Wednesday November 13th at 8PM EST. The awards took place in the heart of country music: Nashville. While many icons graced the stage, Carrie Underwood was the cent er of attention. She served three iconic looks throughout the ceremony (one of which sparked pregnancy rumors), hosted alongside two country music queens, and caused some dispute over the Entertainer of the Year Award. It's clear that the former American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood was the belle of the ball last night.

Previously, Carrie Underwood hosted the CMAs with 10th highest-paid country singer, Brad Paisley. She hosted with country music legends Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton this year after the country music industry was exposed to unequal gender pay. The three fierce ladies slayed the hosting game proving after this year's hostless Oscars and Emmys that award shows with hosts are back in again. They perfectly balanced the evening with wise words of encouragement and praise of Dolly Parton's endowments. This year Garth Brooks won the Entertainer of the Year Award for the 7th time, but Underwood fans were not tolerating his attempt to steal the spotlight.

Fans were outraged when Carrie Underwood did not win the award instead. Country music journalist Ann Powers tweeted, " "No. F— no. I mean I love Garth, really I do. But THIS WAS CARRIE'S YEAR. COME ON." She reeled it back a few moments later clarifying her tweet: "nothing against Garth, who earns his legend status again and again. But how do you center a woman-focused show around [Carrie Underwood] when she's not getting that award? Someone explain." Another country music journalist, Lorie Liebig chimed in. "I love Garth but Carrie should have gotten Entertainer of the Year, end of story, don't argue with me, that's the damn truth," Liebig tweeted.

She also noted, "[Brooks] "should have talked about Carrie and THE WHOLE THING ABOUT WOMEN BEING THE FOCAL POINT OF THE SHOW." Fans also had things to say about Carrie Underwood's attire. “The crystal encrusted dress was amazing. Carrie is always stunning and always stylish and classy but that dress was out of a Disney movie. She looked like a princess,” one fan tweeted about her red carpet look.Another fan commented on her flashy fringe look, “My mom goes to me @carrieunderwood dress is short... if I had legs like hers I would always wear dresses like that work hard and show em off." One fan even thinks that Underwood is hiding a baby bump in one look tweeting," She certainly looks pregnant with a little bump in that green dress," one viewer said.
