Carrie Underwood Celebrates Son Jacob's 1st Birthday: 'You Truly Are Our Miracle Baby!'

A super-cute little boy just celebrated a big milestone! Carrie Underwood shared a birthday tribute to youngest son Jacob and the photos the mom-of-two shared in honor of her “miracle baby” are sweet enough to give you a toothache. It’s not just the camo smash cake and artfully coordinated cupcakes that are full of sugar — the sweetest part has to be baby Jacob with a face and fists full of the birthday treat.

Fortunately for Underwood, she got photographic evidence of how cute Jacob Bryan’s 1^st birthday confections were before her toddler totally annihilated them. Sharing pictures of both (the treats pre-destruction and being destroyed), Underwood shared just how special the day was for the whole family. “Happy birthday, Jacob! How are you already 1 year old?” she wrote, addressing her caption to her little boy. “You are smiley, crazy, smart, soooo fast and into everything! And, apparently, you love cake! I can’t wait to see your personality continue to shine! I have a good feeling you’re going to keep us on our toes for years to come!”

She went on to allude to her trouble conceiving the precious toddler. “I thank God for you each and every day. You are truly our miracle baby!!” Underwood gushed. “Mommy loves you!”

Underwood first opened up back in August 2018 about her heartbreaking journey to give big brother Isaiah, almost 5, a sibling. “We got pregnant early 2017, and it didn’t work out,” she revealed at the time. “Yeah, it happens. And that was the thing. In the beginning, it was like, ‘OK, God, we know this, just wasn’t Your timing. And that’s all right. We will bounce back and figure our way through it.’ And we got pregnant again in the spring, and it didn’t work out.”

Still, the couple kept the faith and persisted. But in early 2018, they suffered a third miscarriage. Underwood channeled her frustration into her music, pouring her emotions into writing sessions. Then when she started to have symptoms that felt familiar, she feared the worst: a fourth miscarriage. Happily, though, it turned out what she was feeling was simply her body forming baby Jacob.

So, yeah, this entire family deserves a super-sweet celebration today. Here’s wishing the best to the birthday boy, of course, but also to his proud parents and big brother. Smash cakes for everyone!
