Carrie Coon Cast In Lionsgate’s ‘Kin’; Lyne Renee Joins ‘An L.A. Minute’

Carrie Coon has been added to the cast of the Jonathan and Josh Baker-directed sci-fi thriller Kin, joining topliners Jack Reynor, James Franco, Zoe Kravitz and Dennis Quaid. The film centers on an ex-con and his younger brother who are forced to run from a vengeful criminal, the feds, and a cadre of otherworldly soldiers. Their only protection is a weapon of mysterious ancestry. Coon will play an FBI agent who is called upon to investigate the strange occurrences that seem to follow the two boys across the West Coast. Lionsgate acquired this title in a pre-buy deal during the Toronto Film Festival this year. Daniel Casey wrote the script, and 21 Laps’ Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen are producing with Jeff Arkuss, David Gross and Jesse Shapira. Coon’s credits include David Fincher’s Gone Girl , HBO’s The Leftovers and will star in FX’s third season of Fargo. She is repped by UTA and Sanders.Armstrong.Caserta Management.

Lyne Renee has joined the cast of the upcoming comedy An L.A. Minute opposite Gabriel Byrne and Kiersey Clemons. The Hyde Park International film is directed by Daniel Adams with a script from Adams and Larry “Ratso” Sloman. Said to be a satirical look at fame and those who worship celebrity, the film follows best-selling author Ted Gold (Byrne), who faces a moral dilemma when Velocity (Clemons), an avant-garde performance artist rocks his world. Mike Flanders and Harris Tulchin are producing. Lyne will next be seen in season two of PBS’ Mercy Street and upcoming features Split and The Hippopotamus. She is repped by Abrams Artists, Vanguard Management Group and The Artists Partnership.
