Carmel theater will bring a mix of Broadway and nostalgia to its new season

Actors Theatre of Indiana is delivering a slate packed with its signature powerhouse vocals for its 19th season. Upcoming shows will mix in Broadway and mid-20th-century nostalgia for productions full of familiar tunes.

A concert of beloved songs will kick off the season in October, and the season-ending "Forbidden Broadway" promises laughs in an ode to the Great White Way. In addition to the mainstage shows, Actors Theatre of Indiana will host its annual costume-themed fundraiser Dec. 1.

The theater's free LAB Series at the Carmel Clay Public Library will spotlight readings on Oct. 14 and March 16, 2024, as well.

Here's the 2023-2024 schedule, which will take place in the Studio Theater at the Center for the Performing Arts, 4 Carter Green in Carmel. Season packages will go on sale in October, and individual tickets will be available in November. Find more information at atistage.org.

ATI's Greatest Hits

Oct. 28

The show will spotlight favorites from past productions, performed by the very actors whose renditions Hoosier audiences love.

Dec. 13-17

Wayne Powers and Katy McCord will host. A jolly elf from the north is on deck for sure, but the rest of the details will be forthcoming.

'Route 66'

Feb. 2-18, 2024

Stir up "Grease," "Pump Boys and Dinettes" and "Forever Plaid" to get this 1950s Chicago-meets-Main-Street-meets-1960s-California musical revue. Along the way are 20th-century hits, including "Little Old Lady from Pasadena," "Little GTO" and "Fun, Fun, Fun."
