Carly Rae Jepsen has launched her new musical project with some very special guests. The music video for “I Really Like You,” the first single from her forthcoming follow-up to 2012’s Kiss album, features Tom Hanks parading around and lip-synching the bubbly pop track before meeting up with Jepsen… who leads a dance troupe, and is eventually joined by her pal Justin Bieber.

Sitting down with Billboard prior to the release of the music video on Friday (Mar. 6), Jepsen described the process of joining Hanks on set for the New York City video shoot — and embracing her unpolished dance moves as much as the Oscar winner. Watch the interview below:

“I think me and Tom Hanks aren’t dancing — we’re awkwardly, hopefully moving in time,” says Jepsen with a laugh. “But we had fun with it. … I can’t say enough good things about him, and my favorite moment in the day was when he was like, ‘So we’re not going to really dance, right? We’re just gonna pretend? And I’m like, ‘Great, I’m with you buddy!'”

It’s Time to Get Excited for Carly Rae Jepsen’s New Music

Jepsen’s new album — her first since the 2012 explosion of “Call Me Maybe,” which topped the Hot 100 chart for nine weeks — is due out this summer, and the Canadian singer-songwriter is excited to let people hear her new tunes. “I’m really proud of this album,” she says. “It feels a little bit more mature, and talks about everything I’ve sort of been going through. And at the same time, there is that old retro 80’s vibe to it that I’m rather obsessed with.”
