Carlos Correa of the Houston Astros had a pretty great 2017. A great season followed by an epic playoffs, then a World Series championship, followed by an on-field proposal and a parade. 2018 is barely a week old, but Carlos Correa has already started making the year great.

On Thursday, Correa took in a Houston Rockets game, and he participated in their pregame “First Shot” for charity. Correa had one chance to make a basket, and if he did, the owner of the Rockets (Tilman Fertitta) would donate $5,000 to charity. Let’s see how he did.

It gets a knock off the glass and swishes right in, no sweat. Success! The video below was taken from a different angle, and it shows exactly how that ball made it into the basket.

Not bad at all! Maybe it’s because Correa looked so relaxed as he was making the shot. After the game, he explained why nerves weren’t really a factor for him.

Yup, that makes sense. After playing in the World Series, and in a Game 7 with the championship on the line, a charity baseball shot probably wouldn’t make him too nervous. In fact, it’s hard to think of too many things that would make him

He’s also earned some bragging rights among his teammates.

Obviously George Springer, Alex Bregman, and Lance McCullers need to practice their hoops skills. I mean, what else could they possibly be doing with their time? Playing baseball or something?
