At the 2024 Oscars this past Sunday, we were reminded of all the celebrity couples we love so much. Whether your favorite is newly debuted Alba Baptista and Chris Evans or the power couple Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey, there’s no denying that the industry’s biggest night puts all of their love on full display.

And, as one of our favorite celebrity couples of all time, Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford were no different. In addition to walking the red carpet together, in which the Best Actress nominee wore a gorgeous black mermaid gown from Balenciaga, the two enjoyed quite a date night together.

By the end, however, it seems like Mulligan’s feet were no longer having it and her husband stepped in and carried her home. How adorable!

Luckily, the moment was caught on camera. In a TikTok, the Mumford and Sons vocalist is seen carrying the actress down a hallway as she laughs, giggles and even chats with some people passing by. In the background, Mumford chose Ryan Gosling’s “I’m Just Ken,” which was performed earlier in the evening.

In the comments, fans of the couple, who have been married since 2012 and share three children together, are not over his gentlemanly move. “Who said chivalry is dead?! 👏” wrote one user. “Fine, I’ll believe love isn’t dead,” wrote another. Indeed, looking at these two together could make anyone believe in love again!

Prior to their sweet Oscars moments, Mulligan opened up about her and Mumford’s love story in December in an episode of the Smartless podcast, per Page Six. “We were friends when we were kids. We went to camp together,” Mulligan said of how they first met.

“I wrote in my diary that he was the nicest, the kindest person I’d ever met and I gave him 9 1/2 out of 10,” the Maestro star remembered.

After carrying her out of the Oscars, we’re sure Mumford is a full 10 out of 10 now.
