Cardinals' brass meeting with Kyler Murray on Oklahoma campus

A week after they made headlines for not attending Oklahoma’s pro day, Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim and rookie head coach Kliff Kingsbury are in Norman.

Meeting with Murray

Via the Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson and ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Keim and Kingsbury are on the Sooners’ campus on Tuesday, in part to meet with quarterback Kyler Murray.

The Cardinals hold the No. 1 pick in next month’s draft and there are many around the NFL who believe they will choose Murray despite taking another quarterback, Josh Rosen, high in the first round just a year ago.

Tuesday’s meeting will only fuel the speculation that will come to pass.

Kingsbury likes Murray

Murray, the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner, has a fan in Kingsbury. Kingsbury recruited Murray out of high school when he was head coach at Texas Tech, and last year, as Texas Tech was preparing to play Oklahoma, Kingsbury said he’d take Murray No. 1 overall in the draft.

At the time, Kingsbury likely had no idea he’d be head coach of the very team in position to do just that.

Wilson tweeted that Keim and Kingsbury also met with draft-eligible offensive linemen while on campus.
