Cardiff Bay Strewn With Litter After Sunshine Brings Out Crowd

Rubbish was left strewn across Cardiff Bay on Wednesday, March 31, a day after crowds had gathered in warm spring sunshine.

Video shared by Tim Corrigan showed beer bottles, cans, food wrappers, plastic bags and other rubbish left on steps outside the Welsh parliament, as cleanup efforts were underway.

Cardiff council leader Huw Thomas condemned the rubbish and said that the area was “cleansed and restored” by 10 am on Wednesday.

“Our resources are stretched thin and could be put to far better use than having to do this,” he said.
