Cardi B dropped “Like What (Freestyle)” on Friday, which samples Missy Elliott’s “She’s A Bitch” from her 1999 album Da Real World.

“Classy and a cunt/Blocks and money gettin’ spunt/Like, like what?/Like a Coach bag, baby, this ain’t what you want/If I ask for it, all I wanna hear is, ‘Yes’/Bitch said she wanna be my opp, God bless,” raps the artist in the opening verse.

Last week, after Cardi B replaced her social media profile pictures with a slate of solid black, fans put on a playful search party for the rapper, trending the hashtag #WhereIsCardi and circulating memes and missing posters worried about the star’s whereabouts. A snippet of Cardi B rapping “I ain’t even got dressed, any L that I took come after YS, oh man!” over a sample of Missy Elliott’s 1999 single circulated as well.

On Wednesday, Cardi B shared the album artwork for “Like What (Freestyle)” on Instagram, announcing that it would be dropping Friday with the caption “YA FOUND ME” — fueling speculation that she may release her sophomore album soon.

Nearly six years ago, Cardi B released revered debut, Invasion of Privacy, with the diamond-certified “Bodak Yellow,” and has dropped chart-topping singles like “Up” and “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion since then. The rap giants reunited for a second round with “Bongos” in the fall, and performed the song at the 2023 VMAs.

Last year, Cardi B also scored a summer hit with Latto on “Put It On Da Floor Again” and joined FendiDa Rappa on “Point Me 2.” Back in July, she featured on her husband Offset’s single “Jealousy.”

In 2023, Rolling Stone ranked Cardi B’s 15 best features, including “Tomorrow 2” with GloRilla, “Despachá RMX” with Rosalía and “Put It on Da Floor Again” with Latto.
