Cardi B turns herself in to police over nasty strip club brawl

Cardi B started off her week by being arrested by the NYPD.

The “I Like It” rapper (whose birth name is Belcalis Almánzar) arrived at a police precinct in Queens on Monday to turn herself in in connection with a strip club brawl, Yahoo Entertainment has confirmed. It stems from an Aug. 29 incident at Angels Strip Club in Flushing, N.Y., during which two bartenders, sisters Jade and Baddie Gi, claim they were assaulted by Cardi B’s posse.

According to TMZ, Cardi was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors: assault and reckless endangerment. She was fingerprinted and posed for a mugshot, which won’t be released publicly. Local station WPIX 11 reports she will appear in court on Oct. 29.

TMZ reported at the time of the fight that there has been bad blood between the Bronx native and the bartender sister act stemming from whether Jade Gi slept with the star’s husband, Migos singer Offset. There were a few incidents leading up to the strip club fight, Jade Gi claimed. But the sisters allege that Cardi B came to the club on that late August night and told her crew to attack both of the women, throwing bottles, chairs, and a hookah smoking device. The sisters, who were reportedly injured but refused medical attention, suggested that Cardi B gave her friends the go-ahead to brawl but stayed out of it herself.

Cardi B, who exploded onto the music scene with her chart-topping hits this past year, doesn’t shy away from talking about her own past as a stripper. She’s even rapped about it. She and Offset secretly married last year and welcomed their first child together, daughter Kulture, on July 10.
