Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion set the internet ablaze when they announced their forthcoming single “Bongos.” The Bronx superstar recently admitted that the lusty cover art is not indicative of what the song will be like.

“Me and Megan, we tricked ya bi**hes,” the mother of two said during an Instagram live session on Wednesday (Sept. 6) while holding up the single covers. “These covers — we tricked you bi**hes. Wanna know how we tricked ya? This is not the theme of the song or the video. We want y’all to believe that it’s giving something that it’s not. You can not outwork me, bi**hes.”

The Invasion Of Privacy artist further displayed her work ethic when she revealed how active she has been in the “Bongos” rollout, bragging only in the most Cardi B fashion. “When I tell you a bi**h landed at 9 o’clock and Patience and Marsha made it her business to come talk to me. We was up to 4:30 [a.m.] talking. I kid you not, I did like 20 f**king interviews. I did all over America, all over Español, all over China, bi**hes. You know this pu**y’s international.” Check out the video below.

Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion first announced “Bongos” on Monday (Sept. 4). The sensual cover art drew the intrigue of many, as it was reminiscent of their first collaboration, 2020’s “WAP.” The track was a major success, becoming the first female rap collaboration to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

This track also could mean that the “Bodak Yellow” rapper’s sophomore album could be looming. She told Vogue Mexico last month in her cover story interview that she didn’t plan on doing any more features before releasing her own solo single and added that the cover art and other ideas for her next LP are in motion. “Everyone always tells me I should put the record out now, they did when I released ‘WAP‘ and when I released ‘Up,’” she said. “But I always let them know I’m not going to wait long after all these singles. So stay tuned because it’s coming out very soon.”

This is a significant release for Megan Thee Stallion as well, as she has been musically inactive since her August 2022 album Traumazine. The LP featured Future, Latto, Dua Lipa, Lucky Daye, Key Glock, and more. The majority of this last year has been spent dealing with the trial surrounding Tory Lanez shooting her in the foot in July 2020, for which he was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
