Cardi B Says #MeToo Movement Overlooks Video Vixens

“People are going to say, ‘So what? You’re a ho. It don’t matter.’”

Cardi B appears on the new cover of Cosmopolitan, where she gets candid about the #MeToo movement and how certain women—like those who appear in music videos—might not receive support. “A lot of video vixens have spoke about this and nobody gives a fuck,” Cardi tells writer Jazmine Hughes. “When I was trying to be a vixen, people were like, ‘You want to be on the cover of this magazine?’ Then they pull their dicks out. I bet if one of these women stands up and talks about it, people are going to say, ‘So what? You’re a ho. It don’t matter.’” Cardi also doesn’t believe many of the men claiming to support the movement. “These producers and directors, they’re not woke, they’re scared,” she says. Cardi B will make her “SNL” debut as musical guest on April 7. She also recently shared that her debut album would arrive that same month. Read “Why Cardi B’s No. 1 Matters” on the Pitch.
