Cardi B receives a lot of vitriol and is usually not afraid to fire back at trolls. A recent exchange with X users pushed her to the point where she contemplated self-harm.

On Wednesday (Oct. 18), one person tweeted, “Cardi the only Mexican I know that don’t work hard.” The 31-year-old responded to the post and said, “Hope you and ur mom die.” Another user responded to the Bronx superstar and said, “Keep wishing death on people and watch how it come back on you.”

The Invasion Of Privacy artist doubled down on her frustration, writing, “IDGAF f**k y’all … y’all can call me Mexican, bring me down and hurt my feelings talk sh*t about everything that’s why I don’t release music.” She followed that up with a concerning post that said, “I just wanna put a bullet in my head.”

Cardi B has since deleted those posts, but her sister Hennessy Carolina stepped up to defend her. “Anybody that dont like my sister can suck [a dick],” Hennessy wrote in the comments of The Neighborhood Talk’s Instagram post about the initial exchange.

The mother of two has been active musically this year despite the constant hate that she receives. Last month, she joined forces with Megan Thee Stallion once again for the upbeat jam “Bongos.” That collaboration came three years after their smash hit “WAP.”

The GRAMMY winner has also been on an active feature run in 2023. She appeared on two tracks on her husband Offset’s latest album Set It Off, “Jealousy” and “Freaky.” In July, Cardi linked up with FendiDa Rappa for “Point Me 2” just one month after joining Latto on “Put It On Da Floor Again.” Check out the video for “Put It On Da Floor Again” below.
