Cardi B Denies Causing Blogger To Receive Death Threats
Cardi B is firing back at accusations she caused a blogger to receive gang threats.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Cardi B is asking a judge to dismiss the lawsuit brought Latasha K.
Earlier this year, Cardi B sued Latasha K accusing her of defamation. The singer took issue with the woman calling her a prostitute and claiming she had herpes. The blogger countersued Cardi for $1 million. She claimed the rapper’s public comments caused her to receive death threats.
In newly filed documents, Cardi denies all allegations of wrongdoing in Latasha’s countersuit.
Cardi is adamant she did nothing to cause others to threaten the blogger. She states, “Plaintiff did not assault Kebe. Plaintiff took no action that reasonably caused Kebe to apprehend a violent injury from any unlawful acts by Plaintiff. Plaintiff made no threat to Kebe that reasonably placed her in imminent fear of violent injury by Plaintiff. Further, to the extent that Kebe claims that a statement made by Plaintiff caused her to fear for her safety, any such alleged statement, even if made by Plaintiff, was not made within close proximity of Kebe. Thus, Kebe had no reasonable apprehension of violent imminent injury by Plaintiff.”
Cardi says any statements she made were her opinion. The rapper says she “had an honest belief in the truth of the statements made.” Cardi argues she cannot be held liable for third parties' actions. She is demanding the entire lawsuit be thrown out.

In her original lawsuit, Cardi took issue with various things Latasha K posted about her, including her baby Kulture. She sued for defamation and sought unspecified damages and also wanted an injunction ordering the videos to be taken offline.
In Latash’s counter-suit, Latasha K accusedthe singer of causing her to receive threats. She admitted publishing a video with another blogger in which they talked about Cardi B. Latasha claims Cardi then reached out to her privately and asked her to remove the video.
She offered her to do an interview to discuss her issues but Cardi declined. She says then,“Cardi B began to publicly defame Ms. Kebe, referring to her as “this blogger lady”, by stating that Ms. Kebe makes up fake stories; harasses all of Cardi B’s friends; constantly stalks Cardi B; falsely claims that she has legitimate sources giving her information about Cardi B; uses Cardi B’s name for “click bait”; and many other false accusations.”
The blogger says Cardi then trashed her online to her millions of followers and even posted a IG video calling Latasha K “dumb ass bitch” and “hoe” numerous times; discussed how all the YouTube bloggers talk about Cardi B; and threatened to retaliate with litigation, not because Cardi B was being defamed, but because people were “talking shit about her friends” and she was “sick of it.”
Latasha K claims she has received threats including gang-threats as a result and has had to permanently relocate her residence, she claims to also be losing money from her business by losing subscribers and advertisers. She says she is pregnant and suffering severe emotional distress and anxiety and stress.
Both cases are ongoing.
